Get More Out of Halo: Financial Reporting for MSPs
Your PSA is full of financial data. Most MSPs never see it.
HaloPSA tracks everything — tickets, time, contracts, agreements. But tracking data and understanding what it means for your business are two very different things.
On June 18, 2026, MSPCFO founder Larry Cobrin and HaloPSA Head of Product Alex Golden hosted a live webinar introducing the new MSPCFO + HaloPSA integration to the Halo community. In just under an hour, they covered how HaloPSA’s billing engine works, what MSPCFO surfaces from your Halo data, and what it takes to get your PSA set up to make the most of it. Whether you were there live or are watching for the first time, everything you need to know is below.
What we covered:
About HaloPSA
Alex Golden walked through what sets Halo apart — one product, one price, fully ITIL-aligned out of the box, and the only PSA currently recognized by Gartner for AI capabilities. He also touched on Halo’s 10-year rolling commitment against mergers and acquisitions, giving customers long-term confidence in the platform’s independence.
About MSPCFO
Larry Cobrin introduced MSPCFO as more than a reporting platform — it’s a tool built to help MSPs understand what’s driving performance in their business, by client, by agreement, by engineer. In business for over 12 years and dedicated exclusively to the MSP channel, MSPCFO starts with a plain English question and works backward through the data to get you to a plain English answer.
Billing with HaloPSA
Alex demonstrated Halo’s billing engine live, showing how recurring invoices, billing rules, and license automation work together to eliminate manual reconciliation. A standout feature: native integrations with Pax8, Ingram, and Microsoft Partner Center automatically sync license counts nightly and update invoices — no manual quantity updates required.
The MSPCFO + HaloPSA Integration
Larry covered how the integration works in practice — API setup takes about 5–7 minutes, data feeds into MSPCFO twice daily, and reporting is live within 24–48 hours. The integration is native and read-only, meaning nothing needs to be exported or maintained. MSPCFO also runs health checks at setup to flag any data gaps before they affect your reports.
What MSPCFO Shows You
Larry walked through key reports available once you’re connected — including Fixed Fee Agreement Monthly Tracking, Client P&L, and a drill-down journey from high-level segments all the way to specific ticket types and configurations driving underperformance. He also introduced Susie, MSPCFO’s AI-generated monthly summary that surfaces client issues, ticket outliers, and agreement health without requiring you to navigate the reports yourself.
PSA Financial Maturity — “Eat Your Broccoli”
One of the most candid sections of the webinar: Larry and Alex discussed what happens when MSPs connect to MSPCFO and their Halo data isn’t set up correctly. Nobody has perfect data — but some gaps matter more than others. MSPCFO identifies what needs attention and, where needed, refers MSPs to accredited Halo implementation partners to get things cleaned up before reporting begins.
Pricing & Launch Offer
MSPCFO is $450/month for up to 30 engineers, month-to-month, with a one-time $500 onboarding fee. Onboarding is mandatory — roughly four calls covering data cleanup and making sure you know how to get value from the system. For anyone who subscribes by June 30, 2026, MSPCFO is offering 50% off the first three months ($225/month) as a launch promotion for the Halo community.
Q&A Highlights
Questions covered how to enter technician costs in Halo (including backdating), how to think about what costs to include (labor costs including benefits and payroll taxes, excluding overhead), how product costs are pulled, and what to expect if you’re still mid-onboarding with Halo. Larry’s recommendation: wait until you have at least 3–6 months of Halo data before connecting — and reach out for a real demo in the meantime.
